When clicking on the ‘New’ item button on your list, you should be taken to a form to enter a new item to your list. By default, this form should show the columns in the order you specify through the List Settings. If the new form does not reflect the column ordering you have specified in the list settings, please follow these steps to clear the issue.
- From your List settings page, click on ‘Advanced Settings’. Next click Allow management of Content Types and click ‘OK’
- Next add from existing site content types and simply select the first item in the list.
- Then remove the newly added existing site content type by clicking on the title of the content type in the list of content types on your list settings page and the by clicking ’delete this content type’(see images below for reference).


- Finally, the last step is to go back into ‘Advanced Settings’ in your List Settings page and change back the option for allowing management of content types to not allow.
