The Phildelphia Flyers(#6 seed) this Friday(5/9/2008) evening(7:30pm Eastern) in Pittsburg(#2 seed). I’m pretty nervous about this series. Pittsburg has been scoring goals left and right and making rather decent teams look silly(Rangers, Senators). You could argue the Senators were a team on the decline with all kinds of locker room issues and that the Rangers just simply lacked the heart to beat a team as fired up as the Pens. But what you cant argue is how well the Pens have been playing. For a team that has notoriously played bad defense, they now have the lowest goals against. And if Biron has been Red hot for us, Fluery has been White hot for the Pens.
I think we are going to see a really great series. One for the history books. Theres no doubt its going to get chippy rather quickly with guys like Ruutu and Roberts(Goons #1 and #2 for the Pens). I am just hoping that Biron can stay Red hot and that we can give the Pens a good battle. The regular season games against the Pens were like Playoff games so I cannot imagine what a real Playoff game is going to be like.
“That’s one of the teams that it’s really not a pleasure to play against. I really don’t like playing against them. I don’t like that team.” - Evgeni Malkin
What was the Flyers record against the Pens in the regular season?

Theres where it gets interesting. The season series was won by Philly 5-3. However, the very last game of the series was allegedely thrown by the Penguins so that they could rest up and play Ottawa in the first round instead of Philly. They were scared and they fricking should be.
